EMDR Intensives

With an Eye on Healing

Specializing in treating healthcare professionals & first responders faced with trauma and adverse events. Providing support to anyone trying to see their way to a better quality of life.

Improve your quality of life and how you show up in the world through EMDR

When you are in a dark place seeing distortions of yourself and the world around you, living each day moment to moment in survival mode, a brighter future can be hard to imagine. Consider it time to shift your focus toward an eye on healing!

While my expertise is used with clients across the age span who are in emotional pain suffering from adverse events and traumatic experiences, I emphasize working with healthcare workers, first responders, and anyone who is at risk for vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue as a result of their vocation.

Anyone who is invested in improving the quality of their life is welcome here!

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly researched method that has demonstrated effectiveness with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, PTSD and much more.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses eye movement and other forms of bilateral stimulation to help the brain process distressing material sitting frozen and unprocessed in the central nervous system. This unprocessed material can lead to symptoms such as:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Hypervigilance

  • Relationship challenges

  • General life disruption

EMDR helps you get out of our own way and allow a natural healing process to begin.

For Healthcare Professionals and First Responders

As a fellow healer, I understand the passion for saving lives whether in body, mind or spirit. What draws us to this work is the very thing that makes us susceptible to compassion fatigue. We are at greatest risk!

About 1 in 5 healthcare workers have left the field since the pandemic. It’s easy to say, “of course, there has been so much pressure and demand for these folks”. But, when you look deeper, you often find pain, shame and self-blame among those who serve and aren’t able to manage their own mental health challenges. If you are one of us and are experiencing the struggle, you have come to the right place!

Let your eye on healing guide you toward hope, health & being whole!

Client Reflections…

  • “Experiencing EMDR therapy led by Cheryl was the turning point in journey with grief and trauma. I found comfort through her method of using EMDR to aid in processing grief, and after consistently following her protocol I gained tangible relief from the upsetting emotions I experienced before trying EMDR. Cheryl is truly an expert at what she does, she has made a profoundly positive impact on my mental health, and I cannot recommend her enough.”

  • "I had a very traumatic work-related injury. This injury caused me to get stuck in one place and relive the traumatic incident every day. I was going to a traditional therapist, and I was not getting the results. My therapist recommended that I try EMDR therapy with Cheryl. I am a very type A personality and was very skeptical. After going through this therapy, I was able to get to a place that I am happy for what happened to me, because I am a better person, husband, and father. All these things are a result of the therapy that I received. I would recommend this therapy to anyone with trauma."

  • “My husband was shot in the line of duty. I spent a lot of time following his injury, watching my brave, courageous, strong husband retreat inward, his overwhelming fear consume him. He tried traditional talk therapy with little results. It was apparent he needed a different form of therapy and we began researching EMDR after being referred to Cheryl. Thanks to Cheryl’s approach, my husband is back to work, thriving, and stronger than ever.”

  • "I would say that when I came to Cheryl for EMDR therapy, I was at a point in life where I felt stuck. I had gone through a cycle of depression and anxiety for so long that it felt like there was no way out. Other therapy that I had done was helpful, but never got deep enough for me to heal from long lasting trauma. Although EMDR felt very uncomfortable at first, working through the underlying issues was my way out of the cycle. It helped me let go of things that I had been holding on to in my mind and body for so long and gave me the ability to process my past, present, and future differently. I hope she can help many more out there because EMDR truly changed my life for the better. "

  • “Cheryl is my EMDR hero! She immerses herself in ongoing education and brings together EMDR professionals to share knowledge and expand her worldview. Cheryl has brought rich insight to every consultation I have had with her and I look forward to continued collaboration with this gifted healer.”

  • “Working in mental health care can be draining. It becomes infinitely easier if you can trust the quality of your colleagues’ work. I was very fortunate to work with Cheryl for a number of years and was always impressed by her dedication, care, and attention to the patients that came to our center and the complex and multi layered stories they had that may have been glossed over by someone who paid less attention to the whole person and where they came from.”
