For Anyone in Search of Healing

Keep Your Eye on Healing Until You See the Light!

The memories are the root of the injury!

You see the obvious: the pain. But, what you don’t see is what really needs to be healed: the story that an adverse experience has written long ago leaving in its wake the inability to see a way out. Those unprocessed memories can flood the nervous system leaving you frozen in time.

With EMDR therapy we are tapping into the nervous system where those memories are housed and lying in wait for something different to happen. That something different is what we do in EMDR therapy.

This is what leads to a new and hopeful view on your life!

What’s getting in your way?

There will always be reasons to put off taking care of yourself.

  • You don’t have time to go to therapy.

  • You don’t want anyone to know I need help.

  • You think you’ll be a failure if I can’t figure this out on your own.

  • Others will lose confidence in you if they know you’re struggling.

  • You worry about the financial aspects.

You will always have obligations, and challenges, but healing is possible.

Stop fighting the pain and start healing it!

EMDR helps you make way for a natural healing process to begin.

  • Feeling hopeless, helpless and hapless.

  • Experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts.

  • Living a life of fear and shame.

Maybe you’re here:

  • Work disruptions

  • Chronic illness

  • Relationship ruptures

With EMDR you could be here:

  • Gaining hope and sense of direction while knowing you are not alone.

  • Experiencing significant reduction in symptoms.

  • Releasing shame that bound you to a life of hopelessness.

  • Finding the passion you had for your work.

  • Improving your overall health through a connection to improved mental health.

  • Finding your way back to those you care about and who care about you.

Incorporating Movement & Therapy

Photo of Cheryl leading two women through a yoga practice in a park surrounded by a garden, green trees and shrubs.

I incorporate yoga, movement, & mindfulness into my therapy practice because as I lived my work as an EMDR therapist I realized that critical piece missing from traditional therapy was attention to the body and somatic experiences.

As a certified yoga teacher I creatively integrate movement, breathwork, meditation & mindfulness into EMDR processing.

While the practice of yoga may not be for everyone, everybody has to breathe & move, so why not use them for calming the nervous system?

This is how we can stay in the present while working through the adversity of the past which ultimately moves us to our future of being healthy and whole.

  • “Experiencing EMDR therapy led by Cheryl was the turning point in journey with grief and trauma. I found comfort through her method of using EMDR to aid in processing grief, and after consistently following her protocol I gained tangible relief from the upsetting emotions I experienced before trying EMDR. Cheryl is truly an expert at what she does, she has made a profoundly positive impact on my mental health, and I cannot recommend her enough.”

  • "I had a very traumatic work-related injury. This injury caused me to get stuck in one place and relive the traumatic incident every day. I was going to a traditional therapist, and I was not getting the results. My therapist recommended that I try EMDR therapy with Cheryl. I am a very type A personality and was very skeptical. After going through this therapy, I was able to get to a place that I am happy for what happened to me, because I am a better person, husband, and father. All these things are a result of the therapy that I received. I would recommend this therapy to anyone with trauma."

  • “My husband was shot in the line of duty. I spent a lot of time following his injury, watching my brave, courageous, strong husband retreat inward, his overwhelming fear consume him. He tried traditional talk therapy with little results. It was apparent he needed a different form of therapy and we began researching EMDR after being referred to Cheryl. Thanks to Cheryl’s approach, my husband is back to work, thriving, and stronger than ever.”

  • "I would say that when I came to Cheryl for EMDR therapy, I was at a point in life where I felt stuck. I had gone through a cycle of depression and anxiety for so long that it felt like there was no way out. Other therapy that I had done was helpful, but never got deep enough for me to heal from long lasting trauma. Although EMDR felt very uncomfortable at first, working through the underlying issues was my way out of the cycle. It helped me let go of things that I had been holding on to in my mind and body for so long and gave me the ability to process my past, present, and future differently. I hope she can help many more out there because EMDR truly changed my life for the better. "

  • "After decades of understanding, intellectually, how the trauma of my childhood had affected me, I still carried burdens that weighed heavily on me. Thanks to her professional, knowledgeable, capable, calm and caring help, I was able to finally shed those burdens I had carried my whole life. It's changed my life and I am so grateful."
